Our most popular first aid course is this one. This 16-hour course is a hands-on, scenario-based introduction to first aid in remote or outdoor settings. The trainer simulates injuries found in a range of outdoor incidents using a variety of outdoor scenarios, making the course highly practical. These scenarios give you a more comprehensive learning experience by allowing you to experience being both a casualty and a first responder.

16 Hour Outdoor First Aid Training Course

The 16-hour outdoor first aid course is designed for individuals who will be performing first aid duties in an outdoor setting. It fulfills the prerequisites for many outdoor certifications, including those for forestry workers, mountain leaders, snowsports instructors, and mountain bike guides. Additionally, ecologists, rangers, Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders, and forest school teachers can all benefit greatly from the training curriculum. Anyone working in outdoor environments or participating in outdoor activities can benefit greatly from taking a 16-hour Outdoor First Aid course, which gives them the skills and confidence to act in an emergency when professional assistance is not immediately available.

Outdoor First Aid Certificates

This course is certificated by Optimal First Aid. Successful participants are awarded the 16 Hour Outdoor First Aid certificate which is valid for three years. Since July 2024 we have been delivering our First Aid at Work, Emergency First Aid at Work and Outdoor First Aid entirely independently. These courses are certified by Optimal First Aid with no external accreditation from an awarding body.

The course also covers the Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus that meets the requirements of Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations on first aid training, therefore we can provide you with this certificate also.
